Archer Boyette (she/they) is a filmmaker, photographer, and installation artist from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Her handmade 16mm films playfully engage with the materiality of celluloid to examine human and other-than-human coexistence, interdependence, and sanctity. Most recently, Archer has been working with botanicals from the Blue Ridge Mountains to create camera-less animations and phytograms. Archer received an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University, where she currently works as an instructor of Cinematic Arts.
